ICC IFC Performing Commercial Fire Plans Review

Course Overview:

FMAC is sponsoring a two-day ICC IFC Performing Commercial Fire Plans Review course.  This seminar presents the process of conducting commercial fire plan review, following the provisions and requirements of the 2018 International Fire Code. Specifically, the seminar provides participants with checklists that enable those performing commercial fire plan review to determine whether the materials, design, construction, installation and location of building components comply with the code. Participants will be able to successfully conduct a commercial fire plan review using the 2018 International Fire Code (IFC).

  • Target audience: fire code officials, inspectors, plan reviewers, and code enforcement personnel.
  • Purpose: Learn how to conduct fire plan reviews for commercial buildings per the IFC.

By the end of this course, students will be able to:

  • Understand IFC review responsibilities and scope
  • Interpret construction documents per IFC requirements
  • Conduct fire apparatus access, hydrant, and water supply evaluations
  • Review building services and systems per Chapter 6
  • Apply means-of-egress criteria and occupant safety provisions
