Course description:
Are you familiar with the responsibilities of state and local fire agencies in the regulation of commercial fireworks operations and consumer fireworks use in Colorado? In this training course, "Fireworks: Don't Get Burned", we will discuss how to safely safely manage commercial and consumer fireworks use in our state. We will learn which codes and regulations are tied to fireworks and how to apply them during licensing, permitting, inspections and enforcement. Finally, resources provided by the Colorado Division of Fire Prevention and Control will be shared to assist our partners in their efforts to make fireworks safer this season.
Course Objectives:
1. Understand State vs Local fire authority responsibilities.
2. Know the types of fireworks that are permissible for the general public to buy and use in Colorado.
3. Understand the regulations associated with commercial fireworks operations (ICC and NFPA codes, state and federal laws).
4. Apply the codes and regulations associated with commercial fireworks operations.
