PRESENTATION:  P1: Health Care Jurisdiction Update from the Division of Fire Prevention and Control, P2: Discussion of Proposed Valet Trash Legislation

Part 1: Did you know “Health Care” sites are regulated by a variety of agencies in Colorado? Recent state legislation has expanded the scope of “health care” agencies to now include the Behavioral Health Administration among other changes. This session will provide guidance on the variety of local, state, and federal agencies involved in heath care facility safety, the differences and similarities between the codes tied to these sites (the International Codes and NFPA 101 “Life Safety Code”) and what a successful partnership between all stakeholders looks like. As requested, specific case studies in oxygen use will also be included.

Part 2: Roundtable discussion on fire code requirements related to valet trash programs and services.

Speakers:

  • P1: Morgan Matthew (DFPC)
  • P2: Dylan Peper (staff member for State Senator Rodriguez) along with FMAC membership in attendance
