PRESENTATIONS:

#1 Temporary Stages and Special Event Structures

Speaker:  Steve Franseen (Mountain West Production Group)

Temporary outdoor stages are something you may have seen many times.  However, we rarely fully understand what makes one stage different from another, the mechanics of safety features that exist and the responsibilities of the operators of these stages.  Steve Franseen owns and manages the largest mobile stage company in the region.  He has over 15 years of experience in the outdoor stage industry and has been involved with over 1,500 outdoor stage deployments in Colorado.  Steve is a recognized authority on outdoor stage safety, special event meteorology and temporary stage construction.  He has consulted with various local governments to help craft their outdoor stage policies.  Steve will talk about the basics of outdoor stage safety and effective inspections of these structures.

#2 Carbon Monoxide Production from Mechanical Equipment and Related Safety Mechanisms

Speaker:  Eric Cecil (Colorado Mountain Mechanical720-226-6827

Mechanical systems utilizing controlled combustion for hot water, building heat, etc. can produce carbon monoxide if not properly installed and maintained.  We will discuss what the fire code official can look for to identify common installation errors and maintenance failures.  We will review real-world examples of installations that do not meet Building, Mechanical, and/or Plumbing Code requirements and manufacturers installation instructions.

Business Meeting to follow the presentation.  Please register for the business meeting separately from our Events page.
